About the Event
This term’s LAN Party is almost here – ten and a half hours of games, games and more games. It will be awesome, and you should be there. Even if you’ve never been to a LAN Party before or don’t have a computer or games console to bring along, you’ll be made more than welcome.
Our policy is play-and-bring-what-you-like. We aim for a friendly, chilled out event with fun being top priority.
So hopefully you’ll come along, and don’t forget to fill in this form to let us know. If you have any questions you can email the exec team on termisoc@termisoc.org. We shall be posting an FAQ and some guidelines in the next few days, so make sure to check back, and follow our Twitter or fan our Facebook page in the meantime!
Guidelines for attendees
- Please, Please, Please, Virus Scan your computer before you come. Viruses suck, and can run rampant if you’re not careful.
- A number of open source multiplayer games will be available for you to install and play. These will be available on one or more USB memory sticks which can be borrowed to copy the files to your computer. Where possible versions for Linux, Mac and Windows will be available.
- Stick Labels on and identify your Gear. There’s going to be a load of stuff at the party on Saturday – and we can’t be held responsible if you lose it. So do yourself a favour and make it easy for everything you bring to go home with you.
- No Alcohol. We’re not allowed it in the venue, and you really don’t want beer spilled over your shiny keyboard, do you?
- Internet access will be available on the network. Please note that this will be over a mobile broadband connection so please check you have the latest updates downloaded and installed before you arrive. Also remember not to use the connection for anything illegal.
- Have Fun! Wouldn’t be worth coming if you didn’t, would it?
